Alice White, a Michigan native and former resident of Illinois, now resides and has a studio in Lake Geneva, WI. A mother of four, she returned to school in the ‘80s earning an MFA(88), MA(86) and BFA(84) from Northern IL university, DeKalb, IL.
The death of her daughter, Julie, in 2000, led her on a quest to begin the study of sculpture with Dan McGuire at the University of WI, Whitewater. She has taught art classes at Northern IL University, DeKalb, IL. She has also taught for Columbia College & McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL as an adjunct professor.
She was represented by the Kay Garvey Gallery, Chicago, IL for over 10 years. When the gallery closed she went with the Gwenda Jay Gallery, Chicago, IL. Her works are exhibited in solo & group shows nationally and are in corporate and private collections.
